On May 28, 2017, at the Georgian Technical University, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia held a round table meeting dedicated to the 100-day countdown to the start of the major international sports event - V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, which will be held on September 17-27, 2017 in Ashgabat.
The round table meeting was attended by the representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Georgia, management and faculty of Georgian Technical University, management and representatives of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, as well as guests of GTU headed by the professor of Institute of Foreign Languages of China Geological University Mr. Wang Zhihai.
Rector of GTU A. Prangishvili, Vice-president of the National Academy of Sciences R. Metreveli, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Georgia D. Muratov, and Professor of IFL and CGU Mr. Wang Zhihai made their presentations.
In their speeches, they noted the scale and grandiosity of sports event, its great importance for the entire sports world, its role in strengthening friendship and cooperation between countries, promoting sports and healthy life style. They also underlined that under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the country is being revealed to the whole world as a serious sporting power.
The round table meeting completed its work by the demonstration of video film on Asian Games-2017.
