The second meeting of the Turkmen-Chinese working group on ensuring the security of jointly implemented economic projects was held in Beijing

On July 13, 2017, the second meeting of the working group on ensuring the security of jointly implemented economic projects was held in Beijing.

In the course of the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the implementation of the activities scheduled at the first meeting of the working group and discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation to ensure the security of jointly implemented major economic projects.

The participants of the meeting also dwelled on the most promising areas of development of relations to deepen bilateral cooperation on topical international and regional problems and put forward a strategy for further cooperation in combating terrorism, extremism and transnational organized crime.

In conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to hold the third regular meeting of the working group in 2018 in Turkmenistan.

On Friday, July 14, the delegation of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the Assistant Foreign Minister of China, Li Huilai.

During the talks, the sides exchanged views on the key events of bilateral relations in 2017 and discussed further cooperation between the two countries on the implementation of the agreements reached between the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the People’ Republic of China Xi Jinping on the results of their talks in Astana in June this year.
