Days of Culture of the Turkish Republic opened in Ashgabat

On December 5, 2017 the opening ceremony of the Days of Culture of the Republic of Turkey in Turkmenistan was held in Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theater.

Representatives of creative intelligentsia, diplomatic missions accredited in our country, public, mass media, student youth took part in the opening ceremony.

Welcoming the audience at the opening ceremony of the current action, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey Omer Arisoy noted that the historically established cultural and spiritual commonality of fraternal peoples is a reliable foundation of bilateral relations.

Then a concert of Turkish artists took place. Its program included performances by soloists of the State Opera and Ballet Theater of Turkey, singers and musicians representing folklore genres, popular creative groups.

Earlier in the morning at the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan there was a meeting with members of the Turkish delegation, during which the prospects of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere were discussed.

Then, within the framework of a cultural event, the opening of an exhibition of Turkish folk crafts and photo art took place in the National Museum of Fine Arts. Objects of decorative and applied art, glassware, ceramics, inlaid boxes and walking sticks, embroidery, decoupage from fabrics and on the fabrics, silver ornaments, pictures made in the “ebru” technique were exhibited here.

On December 6, within the framework of the creative action in the Museum of Fine Arts, a meeting of representatives of the sphere of culture of the two countries will be held. A concert of Turkmen and Turkish artists will take place at the National Music and Drama Theater named after Magtymguly.

A cultural program has been prepared for the guests, which includes acquaintance with the expositions of the capital's museums and the sights of Ashgabat.
