On June 9, 2018 administration centre of Mary Velayat hosted media forum dedicated to coming International Rally Amul – Hazar 2018 and to cycling track and field races held under its framework. Professors and lectures of universities, representative of regional administrations, department of sports and youth affairs of the region, non-governmental organizations and mass media took part in the work of the forum.
The delegates of the forum were welcomed at the square in front of Mary Hotel with musical composition by art masters as well as by the sportsmen who demonstrated performance programme. Bright versatile exhibition on the development of public physical training and health improving and sport movement in the country was expanded in the lobby of the hotel.
Video about the successes of Turkmen sports and policy of the Head of the State in this field has been demonstrated before the start of media forum. Footages demonstrating Turkmen leader skillfully driving high-speed car, showing comprehensive physical fitness and taking part in physical training mass events made special impression.
First of all, the speakers noted the role of the President of Turkmenistan in creation of all conditions in the country for bringing of sports to new world level. Everything what is made by the Head of the State leads to positive changes in life of Turkmen people relying on the wisdom and traditions of the ancestors.
Greatest attention is paid to the sports of high achievements and popularization of physical training as a common way for support of health and support of realization of creative potential of the society together with modernization of national economy, formation of new branches and development of social infrastructure. Modern sport facilities are built all around the country, awareness and propaganda events aimed at the assertion of healthy life style are organized for these purposes.
As it was mentioned, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov takes steadfast measures for Turkmenistan to take deserving place in international sport arena. Energetic policy of the Head of the State on expansion of cooperation in this field received the support of the world community. This is indicated by successful V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat in 2017. This event enhanced the pride of our people of the state, which is the first Central Asian state that was entrusted to host such big competitions. In addition, Turkmen national team achieved significant results in these competitions, having taking the first place by total medal count. Ashgabat 2017 Games allowed our country gaining valuable experience for holding bigger tournaments, the participants highlighted in their speeches.
As is known, it is planned to hold International Weightlifting Championship, International rally Amul – Hazar 2018 as well as other competitions in our country this year. Recently, big sport event was held with the participation of the head of the State on occasion of the World Bicycle Day declared by the UN by the initiative of Turkmenistan.
Special extended session of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Olympic village of the capital on May 22 was dedicated to further development of sports in our country, which outlined the main objectives in this sphere.
Number of the assignments was related to the preparation of Amul – Hazar 2018 rally. In this context, the participants of the media forum discussed the issues of informational support of the race, which course will run along the Silk Road, which lay cross the desert on the territory of our country and involved many cities. The heritage of this historical route including architectural monuments deserves wide highlight by the mass media under informational support of the rally.
The speakers noted that regular international sport events are efficient method to solve the assignment given by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on presentation of Turkmenistan to the world via sports. Leading role in this is given to Turkmen new agencies.
The participants of the forum paid visit to multi-profile sport complex and sport school No. 4 in Mary, inspected the conditions of going in for sport by the youth, upbringing of young talents, who deserved to defend the honour of the country in the world sport arena. Demonstration performance of the athletes was organized for the guests.
The delegates of the forum have also made a trip to the State Historical and Cultural Reserve Ancient Merv. Folk band and theatres artists presenting the composition enlivening the pictures of bright oriental bazar performed on the square next to Sultan Sanjar Mausoleum.
