On January 31, 2024, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea B.Durdyev held negotiations with the president-publisher of the “The Korea Times” Oh Young-jin, during which an exchange of views took place on the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea, including intensifying further interaction through the media.
During the meeting, the ambassador introduced the interlocutor to the main directions of the foreign and domestic policies of Turkmenistan; special emphasis was placed on issues of the country’s information policy. In this context, a commitment was expressed to strengthen international cooperation in the exchange of news and information materials about important events taking place in Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea.
During the conversation, Ambassador B.Durdyev noted that this year in our country is held under the motto “Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi,” within the framework of which various events are held in Turkmenistan and throughout the world dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker. At the same time, it was especially emphasized that the announcement of 2024 by TURKSOY as the “Year of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world - Magtymguly Fragi”, as well as the inclusion of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly in the UNESCO List of memorable dates jointly celebrated in 2024-2025, times testify to the international recognition of the work of the classical poet and philosopher, whose works occupy an important place in the treasury of world literature.
In conclusion, the president-publisher of the “The Korea Times” Oh Young-jin was informed that the ancient Turkmen city of Anau was declared this year the cultural capital of the Turkic world.
