On February 14, 2024, a meeting was held between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. Meredov and Chairman of the Writers Union of the Republic of Uzbekistan S.Saidov.
During the meeting, the parties highly evaluated the relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan in the fields of culture, education and science.
The sides emphasized that literature, in particular the oeuvre of Magtymguly Fragi, which is a bridge of friendship between our peoples, plays an important role in strengthening ties in the cultural sphere.
In this regard, it was noted that in 2024, the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great thinker will be celebrated and in honor of this significant event in Turkmenistan, the current year has been declared the year of “Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi”, as well as by the International Organization of Turkic States (TURKSOY) as “Year of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world Magtymguly Pyragy”.
In this context, a discussion was held on organization of joint events to celebrate this important event at a high level.
