On February 16, 2024, a meeting was held between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation E. Aydogdyev and the General Director of the Tretyakov Gallery E.V. Pronicheva.
At the meeting, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan said that the year 2024 in Turkmenistan is held under the motto “Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi”, during which large-scale events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet, philosopher and thinker of the East Magtymguly Fragi are held at the state and international levels.
The main subject of discussion was certain aspects of Turkmen-Russian cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, in particular, the organization in the near future of an exhibition of works by artists and sculptors of Turkmenistan at the exhibition center of the Tretyakov Gallery.
The parties confirmed their mutual interest in intensifying productive relations based on long-standing traditions of sincere friendship and good neighborliness.
As a result of the discussion, the parties agreed on the need to hold consultations between specialists from the Tretyakov Gallery and specialized structures of Turkmenistan on the organization of an exhibition of works by artists and sculptors of Turkmenistan at the exhibition center of the Tretyakov Gallery in 2026.
