On April 10, 2024, within the walls of the All-Russian State Library of Foreign Literature named after M.I.Rudomino, an international scientific conference was held dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi entitled “The contribution of the Turkmen poet, philosopher and thinker of the East Magtymguly Fragi to world literature”. The event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation together with the All-Russian State Library of Foreign Literature named after M.I.Rudomino.
The conference was attended by prominent figures of culture and art, literature, public figures, literary scholars and philologists of Turkmenistan and Russia, diplomats, and media representatives.
An exhibition of works of modern Turkmen national fine and decorative arts was displayed in the hall of the Oval Hall of the library.
The speakers emphasized the importance of further building up bilateral Turkmen-Russian cooperation, based on the values and principles reflected in the works of Magtymguly Fragi. According to the conference participants, Magtymguly Fragi, whose poems have been translated into many foreign languages and published in dozens of countries around the world, is a great thinker who has made a significant contribution to the enrichment of Turkmen and world literature with his works.
During the event, the poet’s poems were read, and songs based on Magtymguly’s poems were also performed.
As part of the event, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan E.Aydogdyev presented the General Director of the All-Russian State Library of Foreign Literature named after M.I.Rudomino P.Kuzmin with copies of Magtymguly’s books in different languages of the world.
