The Beijing Peace Festival, organized by the China International Peace Foundation in cooperation with the Embassy of Turkmenistan in China, took place in Beijing

On September 19, 2025, the 12th Beijing Peace Festival was held in Beijing's Peace Park. It was organized by the China International Peace Foundation and the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation in close cooperation with the Embassies of Turkmenistan and Austria in China.

The event was attended by ambassadors and diplomats from foreign countries, representatives of international organizations, scholars, and other guests who gathered to celebrate intercultural understanding and promote peace.

The theme of "Joining the Silk Roads to Create Peace" was the theme of this year's Festival, which included keynote speeches and discussions on pressing global issues, such as conflict resolution, global governance, inter-civilizational cooperation, cultural exchanges along the Silk Roads, youth development, and international humanitarian aid.

At the event, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the People's Republic of China Parahat Durdyнev delivered a speech in which he emphasized 2025, the International Year of Peace and Trust, as well as the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, which has been recognized three times by special UN resolutions.

In his speech, Ambassador Durdyнev also noted that one of the most important pillars of Turkmenistan's foreign policy is the principle of equality, which has deep historical roots in the philosophical views of the great Turkmen thinker and philosopher Magtymguly Pyragy.

As part of the event, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in China organized a large-scale photo exhibition and an exhibition of folk arts and crafts dedicated to the rich heritage of national traditions. The festival featured works by Hero Arkadag and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, including those published in Chinese, along with photographs of contemporary life in the country, ancient art and craft objects, and national jewelry—symbols of Turkmen culture.

Festival guests were treated to national cuisine and confectionery from Turkmen private entrepreneurs.

The event also highlighted ongoing projects within the UNESCO Silk Roads Programme, emphasizing the importance of fostering shared values and developing intercultural cooperation.

One of the key highlights was the announcement of the winners of the 2025 "Youth Visions of the Silk Roads" photo contest.
