A briefing was held in Baku to mark the foundation laying ceremony of mosque to be built in Fuzuli as a gift of Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan

On October 10, 2025, a briefing was held in Baku, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Azerbaijan, to mark the foundation laying ceremony for a mosque to be built by Turkmenistan as a gift to Azerbaijan in the city of Fuzuli.

The briefing was attended by the Advisor to the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Fuzuli, Aghdam, and Khojavend Districts, leadership and members of the Parliament of Azerbaijan, the Chairman of the Azerbaijani side of the Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan Working Group on Interparliamentary Relations, the Chairman of the Council of Elders of Azerbaijan, the First Deputy Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office, the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Center for Analysis of International Relations of Azerbaijan, ambassadors of Turkic-speaking states accredited to the Republic of Azerbaijan, political scientists, representatives of public organizations, as well as leading mass media representatives.

The event participants expressed their sincere gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as to the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Hero-Arkadag, and the Turkmen people for the mosque being built in the city of Fuzuli, as a gift of Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan. The mosque will be constructed at the expenses of the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The symbolism of the foundation laying ceremony of the mosque in Fuzuli, initiated by Turkmenistan and held at the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic-Speaking States, was emphasized. For the first time in history, Turkic states jointly laid the foundation of a mosque, a blessed venue for Muslims.

Briefing participants also emphasized that this initiative will make a significant contribution to strengthening relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as all Turkic-speaking states. It was especially noted that the people of Azerbaijan highly value this gift, which serves as a proof of the unity of two countries.

At the end of the event, participants wished to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag good health, happiness, and great success in their noble international endeavors, as well as peace and prosperity to the brotherly people of Turkmenistan.
