From October 13 to 15, 2025, Days of Culture of Turkmenistan were held in the cities of Baku and Ganja in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
On October 13, 2025, as part of the visit of the cultural delegation of Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan, a meeting was held between the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Adil Karimli and the Deputy Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan Mr. Nursakhet Shirimov. At the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to further developing friendly relations between the two countries, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, and expanding relations between museums and cultural centers.
On the same day, the opening ceremony of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan took place at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku. The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the President of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, members of the country’s Milli Majlis, representatives of the diplomatic corps, public organizations and leading mass media, workers of art, and numerous city residents.
As part of the opening ceremony, an Exhibition entitled “Arkadagdan arkaly türkmen milli mirasy” was organized. The exhibition featured valuable exhibits from museums across the country, as well as samples of applied folk and decorative arts, national costumes, carpet weaving, and paintings. The photo exhibition section also featured photographs portraying the history of the Turkmen people, the customs and traditions of Turkmen life, and Turkmen nature.
Then, a festive concert of Turkmen cultural and artistic workers was held on the stage of the Heydar Aliyev Center. The concert featured performances by state dance groups, folk artists of Turkmenistan, musicians and singers. The performances, played on national musical instruments, were greeted with warm applause from the audience.
On October 14, 2025, the “Turkmen Literature Corner” was opened at the National Library of Azerbaijan. This section showcased a collection of books, publications, and scientific works related to the culture, history, and literature of the country. The work aimed at further expansion of relations in the field of art between the two countries, including the mutual publication of literary works in the languages of two fraternal peoples was discussed.
Also, on the same day, the Pavilion of National Cuisine of Turkmenistan was opened in the Seaside Park of Baku. The pavilion showcased Turkmen national cuisine, confectionery and culinary traditions. Performances by Turkmen cultural and artistic workers took place in front of the pavilion.
The closing ceremony of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan was held at the Fikret Amirov State Philharmonic in the city of Ganja on October 15, 2025. A joint concert of cultural and artistic workers of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan was held.
At the closing ceremony of the Days of Culture, the Azerbaijani side expressed its gratitude to the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the performing artistic groups for their highly professional and well-prepared performances. In turn, the cultural delegation of Turkmenistan expressed its gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for the assistance provided and the hospitality shown.
