A Meeting was held between the Consul General of Turkmenistan and the Governor of Afghanistan’s Balkh Province

On February 9, 2026, a meeting was held between the Consul General of Turkmenistan in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan B.Kabayev (Mazar-i-Sharif), and the Governor of Afghanistan’s Balkh Province Mohammad Yusuf Wafa.

During the meeting, the sides held a comprehensive exchange of views on issues related to the development of cooperation in the trade and economic, transport and transit, and energy sectors, as well as on the implementation of major infrastructure projects carried out as a result of friendly relations.

The sides also discussed events being held in Turkmenistan in connection with the motto of 2026, "Independent, Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Steeds," as well as celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence.
