A round table dedicated to the motto of 2026 – “Independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan –homeland of purposeful heavenly horses” was held at Chiba University in Japan

On March 18, 2026, a round table was held at Chiba University, to honor the 2026 motto – “Independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan – homeland of purposeful heavenly horses”. The event was co-organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan and the university leadership.

The event was attended by the President of Chiba University, Koutaro Yokote, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan, A.Bayramov, the Dean of the Graduate Medical University of Japan, Director of the Institute of Medical Research, M.Takashi, Professor of the University of Tokyo, Honorary Professor of the Tokyo Institute of Science and Technology, Chairman of the Turkmen-Japanese Association for Scientific and Technical Cooperation, H.Koinuma, as well as the faculty of this university.

In their speeches, participants noted the significance of the 2026 motto and highlighted Turkmenistan's achievements. Emphasis was placed on the cultural and historical value of Ahal-Teke horses, as well as the country's ongoing scientific work to study them and promote them internationally.

In his speech, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan outlined key areas of the country’s foreign policy, priorities for the state youth policy, and the initiatives of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen People Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Preparations for celebrating the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence in 2026 were particularly noted.

During the event, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in medicine, healthcare, and information technology. The Ambassador invited the university's leadership to visit Turkmenistan and participate in the implementation of the medical cluster project in the city of Arkadag.

Following the roundtable, the participants visited the Research Institute of Disaster Medicine and the Inohana campus, where they learned about their main activities.
