A regional conference "Turkmenistan – OSCE: Regional Co-operation in the field of Transport and Logistics Development" discussed transport and transit potential of Central Asia

On June 20, 2022, a regional conference was held on the theme " Turkmenistan – OSCE: Regional Co-operation in the field of Transport and Logistics Development" in a hybrid format. The conference was organized by the delegation of Turkmenistan to the OSCE together with the Office of the Coordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities and the OSCE Center in Ashgabat.

The event was attended by representatives of the countries of Central Asia and other OSCE participating States, UN system organizations, specialized international and regional organizations, and the private sector.

The conference was dedicated to key economic issues in Central Asia with a special focus on regional cooperation in the development of transport and logistics. Various aspects of regional transport and trade connectivity were considered, and existing challenges and opportunities were considered.

The event was a follow-up to the High-Level Regional Conference “Good Governance and Economic Connectivity – Best Practices within the OSCE Region”, held on 30 and 31 May 2018 in Ashgabat.

During the forum, Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities Ambassador Igli Hasani, Head of the OSCE Center in Ashgabat Ambassador John McGregor, Senior Officer of Poland's OSCE Chairmanship Ms. Katarzyna Wisniewska-Rosik, as well as experts from Central Asian countries presented their statements at the forum.
