Political consultations between Turkmenistan and People's Republic of China

On August 15, 2016 in Ashgabat in the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was held the bilateral political consultations between Turkmenistan and the People's Republic of China. A delegation of the Chinese side was headed by assistant of foreign Minister of China, Mr. Li Huilai.

During the consultations, noting the strategic character of relations between Turkmenistan and China, the participants discussed a wide range of issues for the implementation of the initiatives of the Leaders of the two countries. The sides discussed issues of further expansion of relations in political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres, the possibilities of development of cooperation in the sphere of industry, high technology and agriculture.

In addition, during the talks the sides discussed issues of strengthening inter-parliamentary relations. In this context was noted the role of visits of high level delegations of two countries. Also was noted the mutual interest of the parties in further development of relations in the spheres of energy and transport, through the implementation of joint projects.

The sides expressed satisfaction with the outcome of fruitful cooperation and noted the need for further intensification of mutually beneficial partnership based on the principles of mutual respect and trust.

Also during the visit of the Chinese delegation to Turkmenistan was held the sixth meeting of the Subcommittee on cooperation in security of the Turkmen-Chinese cooperation Committee.

During the meeting were discussed specific issues of bilateral cooperation in relevant areas, evaluated the work done, identified measures to address emerging issues and plans of work for the coming period. The parties exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest. Special attention was paid to the issues of implementation of agreements reached between the Leaders of the two countries for cooperation in the field of security in the interests of strengthening peace and stability in the region.

Following the meeting was signed a Protocol.
