During the period of April 22-24, 2019, the first meeting of defense agencies of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Russia on the issues related to the process of implementation of the Agreement on Preventing Incidents in the Caspian Sea signed during the V Summit of the Heads of Caspian States in August 2018, was held in the Caspian Institute of Maritime and River Transport in the Astrakhan city.
This document is aimed at application of fundamental principles for Caspian states collaboration and strengthening of stability in the region. At the meeting, the parties noted the high level of trust between the fleets of Caspian states, as well as the readiness to discuss in perspective the project of the Agreement on Measures of Trust in the Caspian which will also contribute to further improvement of security in the region.
