As part of the annual “Health and Happiness” month in the country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan traditionally organized a number of sporting tournaments in April with the participation of teams of diplomatic missions and international organizations in Ashgabat.
In table tennis competitions held on April 6-7 at the sports complex of the National Institute of Sports and Tourism of Turkmenistan, the representative of the Embassy of the Russian Federation won the first place, and the representatives of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan took second and third places respectively.
On April 13-14, 2019, the diplomats took part in bowling competitions in the athletics building of the Olympic town, following which the representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey won the first place, representatives of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China took second and third places.
The 3x3 basketball competitions were held on April 20-21 in the sports complex of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The joint team of diplomatic missions of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation became the winners of this tournament; the team of the Embassy of the Russian Federation won the second place. The third place was won by the team of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
At the final stage of the tournament, on April 27-28, 2019, a mini-football competition was held on the football field of the multifunctional stadium “Ashgabat”, the first place in which was won by the team of the US Embassy, the second place was given to the combined team of the Embassy of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia, the third places were awarded to the combined team of the USA and Ukraine.
The winners of the above tournaments were awarded diplomas of the Ministry of Sport and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan, medals and memorable gifts of the respective sports federations of Turkmenistan.
