On the 9th of May 2019, a meeting was held in the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the Executive Director of the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia (CAREC) Zafar Makhmudov, who has arrived to our country to take part in the events on the occasion of foundation laying of a new social-production complex near the Turkmen Lake “Altyn Asyr.”
During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide spectrum of issues in the area of nature protection, ecology and climate change. The guest noted that the Turkmen Lake “Altyn Asyr” has an international significance from the standpoint of overall struggle with global warming. Also, the parties spoke about the active work of CAREC Project Office in Turkmenistan, the activities of which are aimed at promoting the development of regional dialogue between the representatives of the organizations of the countries in the region working in the sphere of nature protection and water resources, including active cooperation on current issues of “green economy.”
