On April 22, 2020, a video conference was held between the Deputy Director-General of UNESCO and the heads of the ministries of culture of the countries of the region.
During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on promising areas of partnership, outlining among them the scientific, educational and cultural sphere, interaction in the field of preservation of historical and architectural monuments, and also discussed the preservation and promotion of unique historical and cultural heritage.
At the meeting, the Deputy Director-General of UNESCO emphasized the importance of organizing meetings of international experts and raising awareness and understanding by various sectors of the population of the role and ideals of UNESCO.
The participants also discussed a wide range of issues of expanding cooperation in the fields of education, science, culture, water management and in the field of information and communication technologies.
