On April 29, 2020, the second session of the Joint Turkmen-Astrakhan Council for Entrepreneurship through videoconferencing took place in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
The heads and representatives of relevant ministries and departments of Turkmenistan and the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation participated to the meeting.
During the session, the logistical opportunities of Astrakhan water-transport junction, arrangement of auto ferry connection between the Turkmenbashi International Seaport and the International Seaport of Olya were discussed. The parties paid special attention to the possibilities of expanding cooperation in the area of trade, with particular interest in the supply of textile, chemical and foods products. The participants exchanged views on the issues of forwarding the goods of agricultural producers of Astrakhan to the markets of Turkmenistan and setting up the supply of nonmetalliferous goods and textile materials of Turkmen production to the Astrakhan region.
Expressing satisfaction with the process of expanding Turkmen-Russian collaboration in different spheres of mutual interest, the parties considered the subject of establishing direct contacts between the representatives of Turkmen and Astrakhan businesses.
