On May 17, 2021, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R.O.Meredov and the Minister of Energy and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic K.A.Turdubaev, who has arrived to Ashgabat on a working visit.
During the talk, the parties noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics of development of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. The importance of the visits on the highest level for the advancement of interstate relations was underlined.
Special emphasis at the meeting was made on trade-economic ties. The interest of the sides in expanding the cooperation in the area of energy, industry, textile manufacturing, food commodities trade and others was expressed. The parties exchanged views on prospective projects in the oil and gas sector.
In this respect, the importance of the work of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kyrgyz Commission on Trade-Economic, Scientific-Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation aimed at the exploration of concrete issues of bilateral cooperation was stated.
The Ministers also underlined the importance of cooperation in cultural-humanitarian sphere. The interest in the expansion of scientific and education contacts was voiced.
Also today, meetings of the Minister of Energy and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic K.A.Turdubaev with the heads of relevant ministries and departments of Turkmenistan were held.
