Speaking at the second United Nations Global Conference on Sustainable Transport, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that one of the significant practical results of the first Global Conference held in the Turkmen capital was the launch of the Ashgabat process that opens up great opportunities for the development of multilateral cooperation in the transport sector on the principles of public-private partnership.
In this context, the feasibility of developing UN Special Interregional Program for Transport Development was expressed.
Turkmenistan at the political level, first of all in the UN, for a number of years has been initiating significant, substantive and specific resolutions in the field sustainable transport, the Head of State noted in his video address.
Stating the importance of assistance and support for developing countries, including their systematic reintegration into global transport processes, Turkmenistan once again stressed its readiness to host the International Ministerial Conference on Transport for Landlocked Developing Countries in Turkmenistan on April 2022.
Coordinated, responsible and far-sighted decisions aimed at minimizing the consequences of the crisis and achieving sustainable economic growth as soon as possible are now more important than ever. Turkmenistan reaffirms its commitment to these goals and principles, and is ready for the closest constructive cooperation for their speedy implementation, emphasized President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
