On December 9, 2022, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev.
Warmly welcoming the guest, Hero-Arkadag wished successful meetings and negotiations scheduled for the visit, a productive exchange of views on promising areas of cooperation that are of interest to both parties.
Expressing gratitude for the time spent and cordial welcome on the Turkmen land, the guest conveyed heartfelt greetings and best wishes from the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko to the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan.
Taking the opportunity, the guest congratulated Arkadag on the International Day of Neutrality, wishing him further success on the path of progress and prosperity. As was emphasized, this status, twice recognized by special United Nations Resolutions, is a reflection of the active and positive role of our country in the development of mutually beneficial and good neighborly relations with all interested states.

As Hero-Arkadag noted, he recalls with particular warmth the recent official visit to the Russian Federation, which resulted in the signing of a historic document - the Agreement on the establishment of a bilateral Inter-Parliamentary Commission on Cooperation, which will give a new impetus to interaction between the Turkmen and Russian parliamentarians.
At the end of the meeting, once again exchanging good wishes, the interlocutors expressed firm confidence in the further intensification of the Turkmen-Russian cooperation, built on the foundation of the centuries-old historical, spiritual and cultural community of the two fraternal peoples.
