On May 22, 2024, a joint meeting was held at the MFA of Turkmenistan between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Turkmenistan (with residence in Oslo), John Mikal Kvistad and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Turkmenistan (with residence in Stockholm) Tomas Danestad.
During the meeting, the condition and prospects of interaction were discussed between Turkmenistan and the Scandinavian countries within the European Union, including in the context of the EU Global Gateway initiative.
The parties also expressed interest in developing trade, economic cooperation as well as expanding contacts among business circles.
Among the promising areas for promoting cultural and humanitarian partnerships, the holding of Cultural Days, joint exhibitions and other social events was noted.
