On November 23-25, 2017, the delegation headed by the rector of the Prince Saud Al Faisal Institute of Diplomatic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Abdullah Al Salman, participated in the sessions of the round table "Turkmen-Saudi Relations" at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The guests also got acquainted with the Museum of the history of Turkmen diplomacy, the training studio and the scientific guidance center on the Sustainable Development Goals at the institute.
This visit was organized within the framework of the Cooperation program signed during the official visit of the distinguished President to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in May 2016. The purpose of the visit of Saudi delegation is to discuss bilateral cooperation between the two institutions preparing young diplomats and an exchange of experiences for the implementation of the cooperation program. During the program, three meetings were held under the title "Turkmen-Saudi bilateral relations", "Economic cooperation (energy, trade and investments)", "Cooperation in the field of science and culture", in which the Saudi diplomats exchanged views with Turkmen colleagues on the directions of the Turkmen-Saudi relations.
Within the specially prepared cultural program, the guests visited the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan, the National Museum of the Turkmen carpet, and also visited one of the most amazing corners of Turkmen nature - the underground lake "Kovata". These excursions were very impressive for the delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and left warm memories to the guests. In the training studio of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, a television program was prepared with the guests, dedicated to the Turkmen-Saudi relations.
