On 4 December 2025, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the UN Under-Secretary-General, High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Miguel Ángel Moratinos.
During the conversation, the sides discussed priority areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN Alliance of Civilizations, emphasizing the importance of promoting dialogue between cultures and religions, as well as strengthening mutual understanding and trust in international relations. It was noted that the meeting held in September this year on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly gave a new impetus to the further development of constructive interaction.
The proposals of Turkmenistan to hold, under the auspices of UNESCO and the Alliance of Civilizations, the international forum "Central Asia – a Space for Building a Peaceful Life", as well as the Global Summit on the Culture of Peace, Trust and Mutual Respect, were discussed.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on the upcoming International Forum of Peace and Trust, scheduled for December 12, 2025, in Ashgabat.
