On December 11, 2025, the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the Head of the Turkmen-Japanese Friendship Group Hiroyuki Tsubai, who is visiting Turkmenistan.
Expressing his sincere gratitude to Hero Arkadag for the time to meet, the guest noted that it is an great honor for him to participate in wide celebrations as part of his visit to the country. The significant contribution of the National Leader of the Turkmen People to the development of overall Japanese-Turkmen cooperation was particularly emphasized.
Noting that Turkmenistan’s foreign policy, based on neutrality, is recognized by the international community, Hiroyuki Tsubai took the opportunity to sincerely congratulate Hero Arkadag and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on International Day of Neutrality and the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan.
Warmly greeting the head of Turkmen-Japanese Friendship Group and thanking him for participating in the celebrations of the International Year of Peace and Trust, International Day of Neutrality, and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent Neutrality, Hero Arkadag expressed confidence that during his visit to Turkmenistan, the guest will have the opportunity to discuss the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation.
In this regard, Hero Arkadag wished Hiroyuki Tsubai success in his new initiatives to expand traditional interstate cooperation.
The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty noted the great contribution of Japanese companies to unfolding the economic potential of two friendly countries.
As noted, Turkmenistan places special emphasis on production efficiency of newly constructed facilities, compliance with environmental standards, the introduction of the latest scientific and technological advances, and attracting foreign investment.
Hero-Arkadag noted that the Japanese company ITOCHU participated in the construction of a natural gas-to-gasoline plant in Ovadandepe, a cement plant in Kelyata, and a urea plant in the Mary velayat.
Expressing gratitude to Hero Arkadag and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the favorable conditions created for the effective operation of Japanese companies in Turkmenistan, Hiroyuki Tsubai assured that he would make every effort to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
