On December 11, 2025, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the International Forum.
The head of state warmly welcomed the head of government of the friendly country and thanked him for accepting the invitation to visit Turkmenistan to participate in the International Forum marking the International Year of Peace and Trust, International Neutrality Day, and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also noted the importance of the participation of a high-ranking Azerbaijani delegation in this Forum.
Expressing gratitude for the hospitality and invitation to participate in the International Forum, the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan noted that Turkmenistan's neutrality is an exemplary example of establishing friendly relations and promoting a culture of trust. The Prime Minister of the neighboring country conveyed warm greetings from President Ilham Aliyev to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and extended sincere congratulations on the occasion of International Neutrality Day and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.
Addressing his best wishes to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the head of state emphasized that the International Year of Peace and Trust marks the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. This year also coincides with an important date in the history of independent Turkmenistan – the glorious 30th anniversary of its permanent neutrality.
Touching upon the topic of bilateral relations, the head of state emphasized that Turkmenistan highly values the comprehensive partnership with the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Noting that Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan have significant potential for building a productive partnership, the head of state confirmed Turkmenistan's readiness to intensify cooperation in areas of mutual interest and expressed confidence that the current visit by the head of the friendly country's government will contribute to the further strengthening of interstate relations.
At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister Ali Asadov exchanged good wishes and reaffirmed the commitment of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan to effective cooperation that meets the national interests and socio-economic development priorities of the two countries.
