

On December 22, 2025, as part of his working visit to the Russian Federation, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the Informal Summit meeting of the heads of state of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
In the morning, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived at the State Hermitage Museum, the venue of the Informal Summit meeting of the heads of state of the CIS Member States.
The President of Turkmenistan was warmly welcomed by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
The Summit was preceded by the visit of the Hermitage Museum organized for the leaders of the Commonwealth states.
After the visit, the Informal Summit meeting of the heads of state of the CIS Member States took place.
Opening the event, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin once again warmly welcomed the high-level guests and thanked them for accepting the invitation to visit St. Petersburg to participate in the Informal Summit.
During the meeting, the results of the work completed in the current year in the framework of the Commonwealth were reviewed, as well as goals for the future set. The progress of economic partnership was noted with satisfaction. At the same time, an exchange of views took place on key issues of regional and global agendas.
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin also congratulated President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the Chairmanship of Turkmenistan at the CIS in 2026 and wished him success.
The CIS countries also emphasized their unwavering commitment to equal and mutually beneficial cooperation based on goodwill, mutual respect and trust. The current meeting fully demonstrated the strive of the Commonwealth states to take constructive cooperation to a new level that meets the demand of present time.
The President of Russian Federation took the opportunity to extend his congratulations and best wishes on the upcoming New Year to the citizens of the CIS Member States.
On behalf of the President of the Russian Federation, an informal lunch was held in honour of the distinguished guests.
Also, a concert was organized for the heads of state at the State Hermitage Museum.
Upon the completion of the program of the working visit to the Russian Federation, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov proceeded to Pulkovo International Airport of St. Petersburg, from where he departed to his Homeland.
