On March 7, 2026, a telephone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov. The parties discussed the current situation in the Middle East.

It was emphasized that all complex international issues should be resolved only through peaceful, political, and diplomatic means and methods based on international law.

Furthermore, in the context of recent airstrikes against Azerbaijan, the inadmissibility of violating the fundamental principle of the UN Charter, respect for the sovereignty of states, was emphasized.

The Foreign Ministers exchanged views on specific humanitarian issues related to the situation in the region.
