Turkmenistan considers the strengthening of international law, the improvement of the international legal framework, as well as increasing the effectiveness of the implementation of acceded conventions, concluded treaties, agreements, and other multilateral documents as one of the key conditions.
The sides discussed directions for further enhancing cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations and its structural bodies, as well as the International Labour Organization, on a multilateral basis.
An exchange of views also took place regarding the positive results of the work carried out within the framework of the Roadmap for cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and the International Labour Organization for 2024-2025, as well as on the activities envisaged in the Roadmap for 2026.
The Turkmen side informed the ILO delegation about the ongoing work on modernizing legislation in the field of human rights, labour, protection of children, and social protection of the population through incorporating into national legislation the norms arising from international treaties to which Turkmenistan has acceded, as well as on the basis of accumulated experience and generally recognized international standards.
Peter van Rooij highly appreciated the results of the work carried out in Turkmenistan in this area and expressed his vision for further cooperation in the near future.
