On April 20, 2018, the sports complex of the Central University of Nationalities of the People's Republic of China hosted a sports festival under the slogan "Health and Happiness", with the participation of the staff of the Embassy of Turkmenistan, teachers, as well as Turkmen and Chinese students studying in the universities of Beijing.
The sports festival was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in China together with the Central University of Nationalities of the Chinese capital in the framework of World Health Day and in honor of the Resolution "World Bicycle Day", adopted at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly, which was proposed by the initiative of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
At the opening of the event, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the People's Republic of China Ch. Rustamova, delivered a welcoming speech, congratulating all participants and thanking the university leadership for the joint preparation of the important sporting event.
Further, the rector of the Central University of Nationalities, Huang Tayaian, highly appreciated the dynamics of Turkmenistan's sports successes in the international arena and the role of the joint sports festival held in strengthening friendship between the students of China and Turkmenistan.
Then the participants of the event competed in various sports exercises: 100 m run among boys and girls, volleyball and basketball competitions and checkers tournament.
Sports competitions opened the relay race, where Turkmen and Chinese students participated. Following the track-and-field race, a cycling race took place, in which both Turkmen and Chinese students took an active part.
As a result of the sports festival, winners and prize-winners received special certificates and memorable gifts.
