Turkmen Students Initiate Roundtable at L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University
On March 18, 2026, the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University in Astana hosted a roundtable titled: “The 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence: Independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan —homeland of purposeful heavenly horses”.
The event was attended by the university leadership, faculty members, and students currently enrolled at the institution.
During the roundtable, the main directions of Turkmenistan's foreign policy and the measures being implemented within the framework of youth policy were discussed. Furthermore, the event participants noted that years of diplomatic relations between the two countries have enabled the transformation of their ties into a deep strategic partnership, which is being realized across political, economic, and socio-cultural dimensions.
In their speeches, the Turkmen students reaffirmed their commitment to representing Turkmenistan with dignity, strengthening friendship between nations, and contributing to the development of international academic cooperation.
Furthermore, the students noted that Turkmenistan’s achievements during the years of Independence are rooted in the great transformations initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people and the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as well as the wise and farsighted policy of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Foreign students studying at the university, in turn, noted that ties between youth and cooperation in the field of education serve as an important bridge bringing the future of our countries closer together.
In closing the roundtable, participants emphasized that modern Turkmen-Kazakhstani relations throughout the years of independence have developed in an exceptional atmosphere of trust and neighborliness. They also noted that a solid foundation for strategic partnership was laid thanks to the wise policy and close dialogue between the top leadership of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
