On March 18, 2024, a briefing was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the UK on the results of the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan held on February 9 and the Presidium of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan on February 22, 2024.
Representatives of the Turkmen diaspora living in the United Kingdom and Turkmen students studying in higher educational institutions took part in the briefing.
During the event, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the UK Ya. Seryaev, in his speech, provided comprehensive information on the main directions of the country’s socio-economic growth for 2024, on key and large-scale projects of national importance within the framework of the “Program for the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan” approved by the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and investments in 2024" and the Work and Activities Plan for the main areas of activity of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.
During the event, a presentation ceremony of the book of the President of Turkmenistan “Youth is the support of the Motherland” took place. It was noted that the new book is dedicated to the successes and achievements of the younger generation in various fields, and every effort to create the necessary conditions for the harmonious development of the younger generation has become a constant priority of the state policy of Turkmenistan.
Then, the Ambassador informed about the state and international level events being held by Turkmenistan this year dedicated to the significant date - the 300th anniversary of the birth of the classic of Turkmen literature, poet and thinker of the East Magtymguly Fragi, in whose honor the year 2024 in Turkmenistan is held under the motto “Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi.”
Collections of the poet's poems, the reflection of his work in musical and visual arts, his life and work were discussed.
