From February 16 to 18, 2026, within the framework of the Days of Turkmen Cinema in the Republic of Turkiye, the delegation of Turkmenistan held a series of meetings aimed at strengthening the cultural-humanitarian dialogue and expanding cooperation in the field of cinematography, television and art.
On February 16, at the headquarters of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), a meeting was held between the delegation led by the Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan, A.Shamuradov and the Secretary General of TURKSOY S.Raev. The parties discussed the issues of deepening the cooperation and implementation of joint projects that promote the common cultural heritage.
On February 17, the Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan met with Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Turkiye Mehmet Nuri Ersoy. During the meeting, the sides reviewed prospects for developing cooperation in the fields of the film industry, theatre and musical arts, as well as opportunities for implementing specialized education programs and creative exchange initiatives.
On February 18, the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting, and Cinematography, A. Kakaev, held a meeting with the Vice-Rector of Ankara University of Music and Fine Arts Barısh Demirci. The discussion focused on establishing academic contacts, organizing master classes, and arranging internships for students and professionals in creative fields.
As part of the visit, members of the delegation laid flowers at the monument of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi, located in the “Turkmenistan” Park in Ankara. During the ceremonial event, the invaluable role of Magtymguly Fragi’s literary heritage in the treasury of world culture was emphasized.
During the discussions, the Turkmen side acquainted their counterparts with the priority areas of Turkmenistan’s state policy, as well as with key international events scheduled for 2026, the motto of which is: “Independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan –homeland of purposeful heavenly horses”.
