On 21 February 2023, a meeting was held between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Armenia M.Ayazov and the Vice-Rector for Development and Innovation of Yerevan State University of the Republic of Armenia Mikael Hovannisyan.
During the meeting, M.Hovhannisyan spoke about the international activities of the university, the network of international contacts available at the university, and also provided information about the availability of scholarships for foreign students.
Ambassador M.Ayazov noted that the interaction of Yerevan University with the universities of Turkmenistan has been continuously developing, whereas mutual working visits have been carried out over the past years, a number of fruitful meetings between the teaching staff and lectures for Turkmen students have been organized.
The Ambassador also informed about the imperatives of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to expand international cooperation in the field of youth policy in our country, in particular, to promote international and regional partnerships and the exchange of experience in the educational and scientific spheres, while attracting foreign scientists and professors to teach at Turkmen universities.
Along with this, the guests were acquainted with the plans of the Embassy for holding various events dedicated to the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi in the frames of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Armenia, scheduled for this year. In this regard, the Vice-Rector of Yerevan University fully supported the initiative of the Embassy to jointly hold the international scientific and practical conference “Magmymguly Fragi in the history of world culture” with the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly in Yerevan.
The parties agreed to maintain a dialogue on the above promising aspects of cooperation.
