On February 11, 2017 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R.Meredov had a meeting with the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, headed by a member of the Islamic Consultative Council (Majlis) Hadi Shushtari, who arrived in Turkmenistan on elections of the President of Turkmenistan.
At the beginning of the meeting the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan congratulated the guest and in his person the brotherly Iranian people on the national holiday - the 38th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution and wished happiness, well-being and prosperity.
During the meeting the sides marked the high level of Turkmen-Iranian relations and noted the great prospects of trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation. The focus of the sides was paid to the revitalization and further development of joint activities in the field of transport and transit, construction of roads, as well as in the electricity and gas sector.
