On February 21, 2017 in the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan a solemn opening ceremony of the photo exhibition dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has been held.
To participate in the celebration of this historical date a representative delegation from Afghanistan headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Nasir Ahmad Andisha arrived in Turkmenistan.
The opening ceremony was attended by the delegation of Afghanistan, representatives of public organizations and the media, officers of the Diplomatic service of Turkmenistan. The guests got acquainted with the photo exhibition which shows the main milestones in the development of bilateral relations.
Then there was a briefing at the level of Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the two states dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan V.Hadjyev in his address to the participants of the briefing noted that relations between the two countries have a friendly, fraternal nature. Turkmenistan, as part of its policy of neutrality, contributes to the achievement of peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan, the reconstruction of the national economy and social infrastructure of the brotherly state.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, Ahmad Nasir Andisha, in his turn, expressed his gratitude for the invitation to take part in the celebrations and emphasized that the friendly relations between the two countries are based on mutual respect.
At the end of the briefing, the Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of both countries expressed their congratulations on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and expressed their best wishes of peace, harmony and prosperity.
