A number of important events are planned for the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the State of Palestine in the capital of Turkmenistan: holding bilateral political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries, the Days of Culture of the State of Palestine in Turkmenistan and a business forum. To participate in these events, a representative delegation of the State of Palestine headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mazen Shamiya, arrived in Ashgabat.
On May 2, 2017, political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the State of Palestine were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The delegation of guests was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Palestine, Mr. Mazen Shamiya.
Issues of mutual interest were on the agenda of bilateral political consultations. During the consultations, the sides discussed issues of cooperation in the political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Noting the similarity of positions on ensuring peace, security and sustainable development in the region and the world as a whole, the sides expressed their commitment to further development of regional and international cooperation. In this context, the sides paid attention to the issues of cooperation within various international organizations.
The parties also discussed promising directions for the development of bilateral cooperation in the trade and economic sphere. During the talks, the sides paid attention to the issues of further development of relations in the field of agriculture and health.
At the same time, the importance of strengthening traditional cultural and humanitarian contacts as an integral part of the relations was noted. In this context, the parties discussed the forthcoming cultural events timed to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the State of Palestine.
During the working visit, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Palestine will hold meetings in some ministries and agencies of Turkmenistan.
