On September 29, 2016 there was a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with Mr. Peter Martin Tesh, who presented the copies of his credential letters as Ambasador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Australia to Turkmenistan (with residence in Moscow).
After mutual greetings the parties discussed the issues of activation of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Australia in political, diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Having marked the high level of political dialogue, the parties agreed with the need to increase interaction within the framework of international organizations, particularly, the UN. The sides underlined the importance of holding political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries on a regular basis for further improvement of the legal base. Touching the issues of cooperation in the fields of education and sports, the sides expressed their readiness to develop relations in these spheres.
The Turkmen side greeted Mr. Peter Martin Tesh as Ambassador of Australia in Turkmenistan and wished him every success during his new assignment. In his turn, having stressed the importance of broadening cooperation between the two countries in different field, Ambassador of Australia in Turkmenistan assured that he will extend assistance in strengthening bilateral relations between the two states.
