About the meeting of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the Ambassador of Switzerland

On 12 February 2026, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myakhri Bashimova and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to Turkmenistan (with residence in Baku), Thomas Stähli.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and Switzerland. The parties emphasized their commitment to further strengthening a constructive and mutually respectful dialogue.

Special attention was paid to enhancing cooperation within international and regional organizations, in particular the UN.

The diplomats discussed issues related to the development of trade and economic,  cultural and humanitarian ties inçluding an exchange views on organizing joint events in this area.
