On April 26, 2018, a meeting has been held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Turkmenistan (with residence in Moscow) Mr. Ngo Duc Manh.
During the talks, noting that one of the important priorities of Turkmenistan's foreign policy is the activation of a full-scale partnership with the countries of South-East Asia and the Pacific, the Turkmen side expressed its desire to develop bilateral relations in various directions. The sides discussed the possibilities for further expansion of cooperation in the political sphere. In this context, the sides exchanged views on the possibility of arranging visits at the highest level. In addition, the importance of the development of inter-parliamentary and inter-party relations was noted.
The meeting participants discussed the possibilities of further consolidation of efforts to develop bilateral cooperation in the spheres of the economy of mutual interest. The sides expressed their proposals on boosting trade cooperation, by increasing bilateral export-import potential. In addition, there was expressed interest in developing cooperation in the field of the textile industry and in the oil and gas sector.
There was also an exchange of views on cooperation in the field of education by establishing direct contacts between higher educational institutions of both countries.
During the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam presented copies of his credentials. Congratulating the Ambassador on the assumption of this responsible post, the Turkmen side expressed its readiness to render all possible assistance and support to his activities in the expansion of bilateral relations.
