On February 6, 2018, at the conference hall of the Hotel “Rooms” of Tbilisi, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia held the conference “Turkmenistan - is the heart of the Great Silk Road. A healthy lifestyle country and the center of the sports achievements”.
The conference was attended by President of Georgian Corporate Sports Federation Mr. Z. Bokolishvili, President of Georgian Tourism Federation Mr. P.Tsivadze, Chairman of the Committee of the Parliament of Georgia on sports and youth issues Mr. M.Kavelashvili, numerous representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Sport of Georgia, honored coaches and athletes of Georgia, as well as representatives of local media.
Speakers noted that 2018 is held under the motto “Turkmenistan is the heart of the Great Silk Road”. They underlined that with successful realization of the largest transport projects by Turkmenistan, modern history is being written and the idea of the revival of the Silk Road, whose heart is neutral Turkmenistan, gets a new interpretation.
The participants were also informed about the sports events scheduled for 2018, including the International rally “Amul-Hazar-2018" and the World Weightlifting Championship. It was underlined that holding of major sporting events is a natural and striking result of the large-scale activity conducted under the patronage and with direct participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to promote sports and physical culture in the country and facilitate its integration in the global sports processes.
Speakers also stressed that today Turkmenistan revives its significance as the key link of the Great Silk Road. Initiating and successfully implementing of large-scale sport events Turkmenistan demonstrates to the world community its position of peace-making and creator country. The video on the achievements of Turkmenistan in many areas was shown to the participants.
At the end of the conference, participants were presented as a gift the book of the President of Turkmenistan "Turkmenistan is the heart of the Great Silk road".
