On October 9, 2020, a videoconference meeting with the Association of National Olympic Committees was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan B. Myatiev, heads of the National Olympic Committee (NOC), as well as by video link, Acting President of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) Robin Mitchell.
During the meeting, the active cooperation of the NOC of Turkmenistan with ANOC and the IOC in the field of Olympic Solidarity programs, the use of allocated funds and the further development of the Olympic movement in Turkmenistan were discussed. In this regard, the Turkmen side noted that the special funds allocated by ANOC will be used taking into account the needs of our athletes in order to provide them with comfortable conditions to prepare for the upcoming Summer Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.
Robin Mitchell stressed that Turkmenistan pays special attention to the development and improvement of sports, building up its potential. The large-scale activities carried out in this area contribute to the enhancement of the country's prestige, making a significant contribution to the international sports movement.
The Turkmen side expressed gratitude to the IOC and ANOC for the activities aimed at developing cooperation in the sports field.
