Interagency Commission in the field of human rights and international humanitarian law, together with the United Nations discussed future cooperation

On May 10, a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission for Ensuring the Implementation of Turkmenistan's International Obligations in the Field of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law was held in the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The representatives of the United Nations agencies accredited in Turkmenistan were invited to the meeting. This form of dialog, open to multilateral partners, contributes to greater efficiency and transparency of the work of this Commission.

Members of the Interdepartmental Commission, together with the UN Representatives, discussed the development of a new edition of the National Action Plan for Human Rights in Turkmenistan and Action Plans for the implementation of children's rights and gender equality, adapting them to long-term strategic national programs for the period 2022-2028.

In addition, the issue of approving the report on the results of the Survey on the health of women and their situation in the family in Turkmenistan jointly with the United Nations Population Fund, as part of the implementation of the National Action Plan for Gender Equality in Turkmenistan and other issues was considered.
