On October 13, 2021, a meeting was held at the MFA of Turkmenistan between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R.Meredov and newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Turkmenistan Said bin Osman Ahmed Suweid. During the meeting, the Saudi diplomat presented copies of his credentials to the head of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.
At the beginning of the meeting, R.Meredov congratulated the plenipotentiary representative of a friendly country on his appointment to a responsible post and wished him success in developing mutually beneficial Turkmen-Saudi relations.
Noting the effectiveness of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in political, diplomatic and economic spheres, the diplomats emphasized the high level of established interstate friendly relations across a wide spectrum.
During the meeting, the sides also underlined the efficiency of the relations between the two countries within the framework of regional and international organizations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan and the head of the Saudi Arabian diplomatic mission in Ashgabat exchanged good wishes and expressed confidence in continuing the active dialogue aimed at strengthening the Turkmen-Saudi cooperation in energy, transport, finance and banking sector and in a number of other areas of mutual interest.
