On February 2, 2017, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R. Meredov had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates in Turkmenistan Mr. Hasan Abdullah Al Adab al Zaouruni, during which issues of further development of the Turkmen-UAE relations have been discussed.
Special attention was paid to strengthening the political and diplomatic cooperation, expansion of trade and economic relations, as well as the revitalization of cultural and humanitarian contacts.
Particularly the sides noted the role of high-level visits in the context of bilateral cooperation. The parties discussed the need to improve the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation mechanisms, in particular in the framework of the joint intergovernmental committee on cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates, the next meeting of which is planned in the first half of this year.
During the meeting it was agreed that in order to give to the political consultations a systemic nature, the parties in the near future, will consider the possibility of preparing a cooperation program between the Foreign Ministries.
