On May 1, 2017, in Ashgabat, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, R. Meredov had a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, S. Aslov, who arrived in Turkmenistan to attend the 6th Foreign Ministers Meeting of the Dialogue "CA + Japan".
During the negotiations, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan noted the role of Turkmenistan in improving joint activities within the framework of the Dialogue "CA + Japan" and expressed the commitment to further development of effective multilateral cooperation within the framework of the Dialogue.
The sides also discussed the implementation of the reached agreements and issues of further development of bilateral relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian fields. Mutual interest in expanding ties was expressed in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, primarily in the fields of culture, science and sports.
