On May 19, 2017 the official delegation of Turkmenistan arrived to the city of Kazan of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation on two-day visit to participate in the work of the IX International economic summit “Russia – Islamic World: KazanSummit 2017” and the exhibition ”Russia Halal Expo”.
The delegation of Turkmenistan included: heads and representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, ministries of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Foreign economic relations, Culture, State Bank of foreign economic activities, National Olympic committee, International University of Humanities and Development, as well as representatives of Turkmen media.
The head of the official delegation of our country, speaking at the IX International Economic Summit "Russia-Islamic World: KazanSummit2017" noted the strategic nature of the Turkmen-Russian relations, including the expansion of the ties in energy, transport, textile industry, agriculture and other sectors. Particularly, fruitful cooperation with the Republic of Tatarstan was noted in the branches of machine building, energy and industry.
The delegation of Turkmenistan was received by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. During the meeting, the sides noted the opening of opportunities based on the principles of mutual trust and respect for relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan for discussing issues in the political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
Also on the same day, a meeting was held between the representative of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the head of the Mejlis of the Republic of Tatarstan, Farid Mukhametshin. During the dialogue, special attention was paid to the development of bilateral inter-parliamentary relations and noted the availability of comprehensive opportunities in this direction.
In addition, representatives of the official delegation of our country took part in the exhibition "Russia Halal Expo". At this exhibition, a separate section for goods produced in Turkmenistan was allocated and the products exhibited attracted special attention of the visitors.
Also, within the framework of this prestigious exhibition, the presentation ceremony of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games was held.
