Today, on October 9, 2023, a meeting was held between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova and the Permanent Representative of Finland to the OSCE Vesa Hakkinen, during which important issues of interaction between Turkmenistan and the OSCE were discussed.
The Turkmen side, in this context, noted the dynamic development of cooperation with the Organization in key areas such as energy security, transport connectivity and environmental safety. The intensification of relations with OSCE institutions - the Parliamentary Assembly, the Office of the High Commissioner on National Minorities, the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, and the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media was emphasized.
During the meeting, diplomats also discussed issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Finland. Current directions for further cooperation have been outlined, both in a bilateral format and within the framework of international and regional structures.
